I agree with all that, I was pointing out that I personally am tired of the media over and over saying he is blind. but anyhow, I do agree he was wrong, wrong in not seeing the potential for the upheaval that would follow.. not having a plan for anything other then going in. I also agree there has never been peace there and most likely never will be. Ron thanks for sharing links. Some of which I have never seen before. As for News, I watch FOX , and BBC and once in a blue moon MSNBC.
Hope all is well with everyone.
Muriel

We must be watching different newscasts, Muriel. All I've been hearing is
that there is NO easy or quick way to extricate ourselves from this mess, and
everyone in both parties seems to be trying to find some sort of solution.
Finally.
As for the President, I didn't hear him talk about anything except "staying
the course" until AFTER the mid-term election results were in. He was not
completely in the dark, however, because he had already lined up Gates to
replace Rumsfield...just in case the election results were as bad as it had begun
to appear they would be. Seems to me he had a Plan A and a Plan B, depending
upon how strongly voters began discarding GOP candidates.
However, I don't expect him to ever admit he has made mistakes as Commander
in Chief, although he may say that "mistakes were made."
But yes, I feel a certain pity for every person who sits in that Oval
Office. And I admire those who have the courage to try....as long as what we are
seeing in the candidate is truly courage, and not just raw ambition or ego.
A good start toward electing leaders of high quality will be to stop
demonizing and smearing every opposition candidate. Such tactics only leave
moderates, independents and those with superficial knowledge about individuals and/or
their records and philosophies with a sour taste in their mouths for
politics in general...and with a tendency to skip voting or a reluctance to even
attempt to gain more indepth, unbiased information about what's going on in our
nation.
