    As you may know, for the last couple of months I've been pushing Holiday Food Basket sponsorship--I'm just about to send out the 'pink slips' on the families who don't have sponsors (currently that number stands at 42) and I'm giving the good people of Forest Grove one more shot.
    All you have to do is send me an e-mail and I'll send the sponsorship info to you. I'm tempted to say that a high-profile donut shop has agreed to sponsor the remaining baskets by supplying these families with delicious glazed donuts, (one box feeding a starving family of four) but that would be stretching the truth (one box actually feeds about a family of three).
    For the record, when I started this project I set a quota of 350--I hit that about four weeks ago and currently stand at 403. Salvation Army of Hillsboro took two hundred of my applications--so over 600 baskets have been sponsored for the Forest Grove/Cornelius area. Only 42 to go.
    It really doesn't make any difference to me--one way or another I have to send out each applicant a postcard. I just hesitate to send out the one that says "Sorry, maybe next year..."
