That would depend on where of you speak.

Ireland was deforested as soon as the brass hatchet was invented, and some
reforestation has been started in the last 25 years.

The US is reforesting at a substantial rate.

Meanwhile elsewhere the picture is not so pretty, with roving subsistence
agriculture being the largest issue in tropical areas.
