[Grovenet] Help!/Gordy Linn wood

A friend told me to paint (1 coat only) the ends to minimize warping or else
it will dry too fast on the ends and have more cracks.
I don't know for sure if it helped or not because I did paint all of them
thus giving up having a control group.
We also put a dehumidifier in the basement with the wood while it dried and
at first we were getting about 1-2 gallons/day.
But the basement sure smelled good.
