What does this mean Steven?

I do support the idea exemplified by the luxury
tax on gas guzzlers. Pay up front for the damage
done when you choose something that costs society
money.

I also feel that the cost for things like the war
in Iraq should be paid at the pump. Subsidizing
SUV's and wasteful behavior is foolish.

Just as we require polluters to clean up their
mess, absolutely add the real cost of coal
generating plants onto the bill. What that does
is make clean alternatives more attractive. Right
now, with all the hidden costs of dirty power,
solar and wind can't compete.

Great idea! Why does your guy support an
incentive for Hummers? That makes no sense to me.
Why do you support that?

That's very true. Why give tax breaks to the rich
when poor people struggle to buy just enough to
survive? If you're middle class or below it's
about survival. Your guy supports the rich who
can afford clean running cars, although some of
those are SUV's and gas guzzlers which put out a
lot more CO2 than smaller cars do.

If Al Gore were president, we would not be in
Iraq. We would not be spending more than we take
in. The national debt might very well be gone by
now. The country would be on a clean energy
course and we would be using a lot less oil than
we do now. The price of crude would be lower than
it is now. We would have captured/killed Osama by
now, because we would be working WITH the rest of
the world rather than flipping our middle finger
at them. We would be focused on the world court
and international law rather than how to hide
torture and illegal incarceration. Oh my yes,
things would be different.

You provided me with some great web sites on
photovoltaic panels. I'm delighted you are doing
your part. That's wonderful! I suspect you are
smart enough and financially able enough to do
solar once I show you what a great idea it is
(bottom line stuff). Encouraging solar power is
both patriotic and good stewardship for the
earth!

If you were to go to the Al Gore movie I think
you would respond positively. I realize it is too
big a pill for you to swallow, in light of how
you vote and your perceptions of global warming
in general. You feed from the informational
trough of big oil, like George W does. They are a
greedy bunch with a very short term approach that
leads to the demise of all we hold dear. That's
why the wheels are coming off their wagon. Their
approach is not sustainable, and it's shows no
respect for life, unless you're very rich.
