[Grovenet] A little more inconvenient truth . . .

David, what I said was due to my understanding of what
Jane was proposing. To my understanding, she was *not*
making a proposal for another email list group that would
argue online, but was proposing a group who already agreed
on global warming and would support each other in making
changes to personal habits accordingly, possibly including
meeting in person.

Just the way you responded to it makes me think it's probably
a good idea to leave it at that and let Jane correct me if I
didn't understand her, since she was the originator of the
idea!

Also regarding your response, David, I agree there's no reason
not to keep talking about global warming on GroveNet, too --
our own little "microcosm of the larger world," as you say.

Where've you been anyway?! You were missed. :)

Geri

: Grovenet is a microcosm of the larger world. If you can't find ways
: to communicate with this intimate group of strangers, how can anyone
: hope to communicate the difficult ideas to others outside this small

: BTW, one cubic meter of ice weighs about a ton? I didn't think so.
:
: 1 meter is 100 centimeters (cm)
: 100 cm x 100 cm x 100 cm = 1 million cubic centimeters (cc)
: Water weighs one gram per cc, ice about 7/8 as much.
: 1 million grams is 1000 kilograms
: one kilogram is about 2.2 pounds.
: One thousand kilograms is about 2200 pounds. With the ice just about
: 2000 pounds.
:
:
: Whoa! that is true value!
