Ahhh, don't leave, just lurk.

Conservatives and Republicans have a lot to offer to the social order
of this country. Just as Liberals and Democrats have a lot to
offer. Both have blind spots as well. That is one function of
discussion, seeing our blind spots.

Having Democrats in power will change the nature of the complaints.
Smile. The talk will cover the "tax and spend" aspects of government
again. And of course we will start hearing about the need for a
"Balanced Budget Amendment" again to get the Federal Budget back in
shape. We might even get to listen to the news media pushing for
some action on Immigration Reform, balancing Social Security,
spiraling Medicare costs, and opposition to "nation building" and
foreign wars. We may even get the spectacle of a Presidential
impeachment again.

I rely upon the rule of law to protect my life and safety. I doubt
that I would last a week in the conditions of Somalia or Iraq. I am
equally concerned that I would not have remained at liberty in a
situation like the Soviet Union, Communist China, today's Iran, or
any of the "strong man" governments in Asia, Africa, or the
Americas. I don't want a one party state, or an imperial President
ruling without limits. That may come across as negative because it
is negative. I don't want that set of conditions in my home
country. I am opposed to losing my freedoms. I do object to what is
happening. It really is negative. Sorry.

Fear has the habit of making people aggressive. I admit to fear.
Some aspects of the current Administration scare the living daylights
out of me.

David

PS

We might even get back to news about "Mad Cow Disease" again. We
might remember that the first case in the Washington was from a
Canadian cow. So where was the second cow last year and the third
one this year? And how many months did it take to find out?
