It's sort of how it is today, isn't it Steven.
And if everyone else does it, why not the
government? They might even be able to track down
some of these pesky terrorists we hear so much
about and who represent such a threat to all of
us people who are just trying to make a go of it.
I will say that this is not a program any D would
put into place, but W has more than planted the
seeds. He's got a whole forest going and growing!
Once the tables are turned, and the D's are back
in power, imagine the possibilities!
Let's see, the commander in chief is now
established to be above the law. We are at war
and it's his job to protect us, and Steven, this
war is going to go on for a long time don't 'cha
know. So, if the president makes a decision about
almost anything, and cloaks it under the veil of
national security, who can raise any questions?
If a law is passed he doesn't like, or that
limits his power, he can just ignore it. Spying
on the terrorists or spying on his political
adversaries? What's the difference? If a
president can't keep it secret, and W tried to
keep his program secret, he will tell us it's for
national security and to hell with the law. Since
when is it unlawful for the president to protect
us?
The pendulum swings Steven. It used to be we were
all protected from tyranny. We still may be. The
constitution says we are, but your boy is riding
high so far. Torture, arrest without trial,
outing CIA operatives for political gain, illegal
wars and trumped up intelligence, think of the
ground he has prepared and the possibilities!
You are right! Nothing to worry about! Some of us
just need to get with the program and stop our
moaning and groaning. Right!?
