Senator Kerry has had an object lesson in the value of "political jibes",
especially when he can't even tell a "joke" right. 

A scene at the HQ of the Democratic Party:

The chief strategist asks Senator Kerry for an appointment. The Senator
obliges by showing up at Hq, shaking hands and slapping backs, telling 'em
they're all doing a great job. 

The strategist shows the Senator into his private office and closes the
door. "I have an important job that only you can do and I'll win us the
White House in '08 as well as the Legislature next week." 

"Great!" the Senator beams. "What do you need me to do?"

"Just SHUT UP Senator. Please, shut up!"
