Along the lines of the changes coming, I found this little bit of sentiment
from a poll conducted by the Earth Day network:

Independents, when given the choice of which party is "most likely" to solve
Global Warming, overwhelmingly choose the Democratic Party (48%)over the
Republican Party (12%).
