Yep. I almost used Hitler in my post about great speakers. We tend to
classify him as either comic or threatening from the brief film clips used
of him speaking, but Hitler was, to the German culture, a powerful,
compelling orator.
A silver tongue does not mean there's a heart of gold behind it.
Still, an inept speaker suggests an inept person.
Time was a candidate had no chance of winning he couldn't hold his own
inspiring audiences. Modern advertising techniques have changed all of that
for an unintelligent public anxious only to be "in with the winners" when
they vote.
