I didn't go beyond the first reference but the
language pretty much indicates the
intelligence/education involved.
That says it all!

You mean like this?

Or this?

BTW, there was only one story in the FGNT about
the protests. They have been going on for almost
a year now but Schrag refuses to cover them. And
it's not from lack of material.

Pickup work? Are the employers paying workman's
comp or reporting the
income? Maybe someone should write down the
plate numbers of the
'employers.'

Well, Tom, maybe it is a big step to figure
out the legal status of the
guys who hang around on the weekends. Many
(perhaps not a majority, but
many) are legals trying to pick up some weekend
work to help make their
money go to the end of the month. And many in
the Latino community helped
build, pay for and support the buildings and
staff at Centro. I have also
attended a number of community meetings there
where nearly all of the
participants were Anglos.
So, sometimes the answers are not as simple as
we would like them to be
since the questions are not simple!!
