I don't know what the statistics are but Catholic priests (the few % relevant to this story) were almost exclusively involved with boys. Again, I don't have any statistics nor do I care. As you point out, a pedophile is a pedophile. We, as a society, do treat more harshly men involved with girls, then men involved with boys, and we almost yawn when grown women are involved with boys. There is a forth permutation but I don't even remember one case lately.

Please do not get confused here. Rep. Foley may or may not be gay, but he is a pedophile. And virtually all pedophiles are otherwise heterosexual. Despite the Rs' best attempts to argue otherwise, the facts say they're wrong. (Facts available on request. Please send a SASE to Just the Facts, PO Box 9234576231890342, Dilley, Oregon 97116. So, how should I take this story? We have a Republican from a Florida district who has been soliciting affection from minors. BTW, the Congressman was soliciting boys. Should I see that as hyprocrocy by the party that opposes Gay Rights? Possible campaign slogan Oppose Gay marriage - Vote Republican We keep homosexuals and pedophiles in the Capital Cloak closet where they belong Or, should I see that as just another example that adult homosexuals prey on children? Or should I put it in perspective? 2221 American combat deaths looking for WMDs, about 30,000 American casualties, around 45,000 Iraqi civilian deaths, North Korea has test fired ballistic missiles, North Korea has gone from IAEC locks on the Yongbyon reactor to announcing a nuclear bomb test, Iran has gone from a more moderate government to a more radical government with a nuclear enrichment program, Afghanistan is losing ground to the Taliban, Hamas elected to govern
Gaza, we went from a balanced budget to $2.5 trillion of new national debt, pharmacy companies write Medicare regulations, oil companies write energy policy, etc. etc. ... and a Republican congressman's sexual appetite might hurt the Republican Party's chance to retain control of Congress. Hastert contradicted by House No. 2 By ANDREW TAYLOR, Associated Press Writer 31 minutes ago House Speaker Dennis Hastert brushed aside resignation talk Tuesday, even as the Republicans' No. 2 House leader contradicted him in the page scandal. President Bush gave Hastert a vote of confidence as the party struggled to contain pre-election fallout. Hastert, an Illinois Republican, said he wouldn't resign as speaker, the top official in Congress and second in the line of succession to the presidency, in the controversy over Rep. Mark Foley (news, bio, voting record)'s salacious computer exchanges with former pages. Foley resigned last Friday. ... "Can I have a good kiss goodnight," Foley was said to have messaged in one. A boy responded with cyber symbols and "kiss>." In another message, Foley invited the teenager to his Capitol Hill town house "for a few drinks" even though he knew the boy was under the legal drinking age. "we may
need to drink at my house so we dont get busted," Foley messaged.
