Hey, the operative word you used is "legal," Ron. :-)
Or, hey, do like W does: just get some legislation
passed to cover your butt!
New accusations by pages/former pages have
emerged today, and new accusations probably
wouldn't continue to come out if this was just a
prank (as someone hopefully suggested). Fortunately,
the House Ethics Committee did open their investigation
today ...
This current Republican Party is a shame to its origins.

: Any time something happens that reflects badly on one party, you can be sure
: people supporting that party will do what they can to minimize the bad
: publicity.
:
: Is that a "cover up"? Perhaps, but not necessarily. After all, all of these
: people are in a popularity contest. They know that success or failure is
: only based on what makes the most people vote for them on election day.
:
: If the name of the game is to win, it's appropriate to do all that's legal
: to win.
:
: And it's appropriate for the opposition to question closely anything that's
: done to minimize the impact of a negative issue.
:
: But it's equally important not to confuse the questions with accusations, or
: accusations with evidence, or evidence with guilt.
:
: Many of the so called "news" media (usually talking heads expressing
: opinions) blur those distinctions. After all, their jobs depend upon gaining
: the most audience share and much less on how accurate they are. Their jobs
: are not based on who wins or loses an election.
