[Grovenet] Peace in Iraq

Yeah!
I'll bet that if it looks like the troops in Iraq will cost the Republican's
the White House in 2008 we won't have troops in Iraq in 2008. Other things
are more important than, as the President has always said, "...doing what's
right."
I also firmly believe that it's not up to President Bush any longer. I don't
think he's had 1/10 the authority he had in his first term. The party and
Congress are calling the shots now. The R party is doing all it can to
maintain position and the Congress is divided along the lines of those who
want to retain power and those who want to acquire power.
That's just my personal opinion. I'm being "talking fingers" here <G>.
I'm sad to observe that I'm afraid that the good people of Iraq will be left
to mercies of whoever assumes power in Saddam's place. I won't even rule out
it being Saddam himself, in time.
"Not another Vietnam?" Sure. This one doesn't have any jungles. And, it is
quite true, not nearly as many American troops died, so far. However the
number of attacks against our troops continues to grow every month. A couple
of days ago I saw a report that we're up to 100 attacks each DAY now against
US troops in Iraq. I says something for the troops, their training and their
equipment that we don't have more deaths.

So let's see.
We can't 'cut and run' but just watch us pull out our troops in order to
'cut their support'.
Sort of like Bill Frist saying we'll never defeat the Taliban with a
military effort so we should let them live in peace and take their
representative position in the Afghan government.
