Good idea. I always ride on the sidewalk, even if there is a bike lane.
the other day I noticed an FG motorbike cop stop to yell, yes yell, at a
college student riding on the sidewalk. $94 ticket, I heard him yell.
On the other hand I find our youth walking in the street, go figure.
An issue associated with the bikes. A couple of years ago the drug runners
were using bikes for delivery. They would go the wrong way down the oneway
streets to help avoid police. Thankfully, I haven't seen them in the last
couple of years.
Making nice bike lanes the path of choice for druggies would not be to my
liking.
FG has a lot of streets that haven't been improved. Over the years we've had
various ideas. Some say to narrow the streets to slow cars down. Some say to
widen them to allow for bikes.
We could do a registry system. Only folks registered for a street
(residents) could travel some streets. This would make it easier for bikes.
