Ever notice the similarities in the functioning of the historic  
governments and the functioning of organized crime?

I was reading the history of Roman government and it really looked  
like something run by gangsters.  In fact, the idea that governments  
exist for the benefit of the common people is exceptional.  In  
general governments exist for the benefit of the party in power.
