[Grovenet] a puzzling observation

Dear Grovenuts,
 
I SO enjoy reading your newsletter!  Physically, I am many  miles away from 
Forest Grove, but be assured that my mind and spirit are there  with you. 
 
My husband, tonight, is in Colorado attending a reunion of USAF  personnel 
who were stationed at Kirknewton Air Base in Scotland. He's also done  a little 
touring and had a couple of business-related meetings. In the course of  his 
travels, he mentioned Oregon to someone he met, and that person commented,  
"It's probably the most beautiful state of all...and the people up there do  
whatever the heck they want to."
 
I would have followed up on that remark, of course, with more  questions, but 
my husband -- bedazzled, perhaps, by the scenery, or  oxygen-deprived from 
the heights -- did not.
 
Do tell. What do YOU think the Colorado resident meant by  "whatever the heck 
they want to do?"
