Allowed by who? Iraqis? The world? American

By the guys who knocked down the WTC and can do it again - or something
equally devastating - at any time.
Of course, I don't think we can "walk away" even though Bin Ladin says we
could. He's just one radical element out there. There are too many others
who are intent upon reasserting their country as a superpower. Iran is one
of those.
For five years the USA has been dancing to the tune of the terrorists. We've
spent trillions as they dictated, doing things that have no value to us
other than hopefully delaying another 9/11. We are presently controlled by
Bin Ladin and his people. Anyone who thinks differently had their head
buried well into the sand. Ask whether the Iraq war, Afgan war, homeland
security costs, etc., are things we'd have elected to do or things we felt
compelled to do as a result of 9/11?
It's not a pretty picture.
