[Grovenet] "From Kilimanjaro with Love"

That's a good reason, Allen.
There's quite enough of the "ching-ching, let the cash register ring for
me!" out there already.
While independents often create some of the best work - in virtually any
field - what they tend to have in common is a much tighter budget for "up
front" money than big corporations. Like independents of all types, from
writers to film makers to plumbers or carpenters, they are paid for public
acceptance. There's little or no guarantee: often they work for less than
minimum wage if they aren't successful, and success is never certain, even
for a genius!

Maybe they did pick our house because of the bargain. I suppose I didn't
explain myself well enough in my original posting . . . always a potential
problem when communicating by email. I do know that Indies "can" make
money. Even though we could certainly use any and every source of funding
out there to continue renovating this lovely old home, we weren't looking to
make money when we accepted the request for filming. I don't know that I
can fully explain it. It just felt like good karma for the house and FG.

Maybe your house does need an agent.
Please don't mix up Not for profit with Indy. Indies can and do make
money. Blare Witch Project was an Indy. So was The Panama Connection. I
suggest they picked your house specifically because of the cost.

for suggesting our home as a good candidate. Being this is an "Indy" film
means we don't profit off the use of our home for the filming but it's neat
this is happening in Forest Gove. The only thing that worries me now is our
house is starting to talk about getting an agent. Sheesh!
