in regards to the viewing public, some people, not all, do like a
certain amount violence on some of their favorite tv sit-com programs,
myself included, but the operative words here are sit-com programs...
However, there are those who can not difference between to two, adults
and children alike. 
And of course the program ratings either make or break a program, and
not without being there when those whose job it is to make those
decisions, we will never know. What I'd like to see is that someone with
some intestinal fortitude find a way to put the blame where it belongs.
Violence is one thing, but to spread it like a cancer via the air ways,
internet, or a newspaper is a criminal act as far as I am concerned
