Annual Forest Grove Children's Fair on May 12th
The annual Forest Grove Children’s Fair will be held Saturday, May
12, 2007, on the campus of Pacific University. Pre-parade festivities
begin at 9 a.m. with games, bubbles, chalk-art, decorating and
dancing in front of the University Education Building on the corner
of Pacific Avenue and College Way. At 9:50 we will parade up Main
Street to the PAC (Pacific Athletic Center, a.k.a. the university
gymnasium) where the fair will take place until 1 p.m. This parade is
best enjoyed by joining in, so come dressed for fun and bring along a
decorated wagon or banner and your favorite musical instrument!
The purpose of the Children’s Fair is to bring families together with
organizations who provide services for young children, in celebration
of community, childhood and the spirit of learning.
The Children’s Fair offers an informative day of creating, exploring,
dancing, silliness and serious fun at booths sponsored by local
organizations including preschools, extra curricular activity
providers (such as dance, gymnastics, art and music) child safety
organizations, Forest Grove city departments, and departments of
Pacific University,
Everything is FREE thanks to the participating organizations, and
generous local sponsorship as well as volunteer efforts of dozens of
community members.
Hosted by Pacific University College of Education celebrating the
Week of the Young Child. This week is annually designated by the
National Association for the Education of Young Children in order to
focus public attention on the needs of young children and their
families, and to support early childhood programs and services that
meet those needs.
