You must be living in a different world than I am.

We can't even feed our own population and we're at 
least one of the richest nations in the world!

Perhaps you haven't noticed how many homeless and 
otherwise destitute people there are even around 
home.

As for the rest of the world, how many nations can 
you count that are not able to feed their people? 
Many! Maybe it's just easier to ignore the truth.

Now, since the problems of how to feed a growing 
population have been largely solved, feeding a 
stable population is not even on the radar screen. 
But unfortunately, ingrained in the model of 
dealing with whatever issues arise, whether they 
be related to food, energy, or waste management, 
is not just how to accommodate a stable population 
but how to deal with a growing population.
