17.7 non-occupant fatalities per 100,000 LTV (light truck, Suv & van)
This doesn't say whether the passenger car drivers do a better job of
avoiding pedestrians and bicycles, or if the contact is less fatal.

Exactly my point. I am at greater risk, statistically, from idiots
behind the wheel than from idiots carrying guns. So why not describe
both lethal objects as a "deadly weapon"?
