Red sky in the morning,
Sailor take warning.
Red sky at night,
Sailor's delight.
Still, the National Weather Service Forecast office of NOAA doesn't seem to
think there's much in store for you or us: www.weather.gov
(Note ".GOV", not ".com".)
For you, highs in the low to mid 40's (F) and lows a bit above freezing with
winds in the 10-15 mph rain. Of course, snow is quite possible when highs
are in the 40's. I read somewhere that snow is *more* likely when the temps
are in the low 40's than it is when temps are freezing because there's more
humidity to condense at the higher temperature and it'll still be cold
enough to form snowflakes at altitude.
On the coast we have a little less chance of rain this far south although
some sprinkles are expected. The storm track is better centered on you folks
(again). And we'll be a bit warmer with highs near 50F. We'll be a little
more breezy some days with wind speeds topping 20 MPH at times.
NOAA is a great resource to track storms and storm warnings. It's where the
TV and Radio news gets their stuff.
Here's another interesting weather site:
http://www.ocs.oregonstate.edu/county_climate/Washington_files/Washington.ht
ml
This is the web site of the Oregon Climate Service for Washington county. It
has a huge amount of historical weather data with mean/average temperatures
rainfall, etc. I suspect the rain gauge enthusiasts are very familiar with
it <G>!
Interestingly, it says we in the Newport area can expect perhaps 20 inches
more rain than you during a typical year. I have a hunch this year isn't
typical for you!

Mr Ed...
I think this where the ole adage that says something about when this happens
that sailers should take warning.... I heard on the news this morning that
we can expect a bad weekend of wind, rain, sleet and snow...
