[Grovenet] Strange Numbers about Personal "Wealth"...

Been listening to the radio too much today. A few numbers from a recent
study quoted by Dr. Gene Eudell;

40% of the Democrats making less than $50,000/year were satisfied with their
financial situation today.

75% of the Republicans making less than $50,000/year were satisfied with
their financial situation today.

Now it gets even MORE weird (at first glance):

Of the above Republicans, 60% of them were not able to balance their budget.
Falling ever deeper into debt, they still said they were satisfied with
their financial situation.

It seems to me that in the USA, the Republicans do a far better job of
marketing their ideas than the Democrats. For example, Republicans do a
great job of convincing lower and middle-income class people, some of who
are struggling and falling deeper into debt, that programs to benefit the
very wealthy are also best for them. They believe that if it's good for big
money, it's good for them.

That's something to think about as we go into the campaigns.

Will the winner be the one who articulates the best program for the future,
or will the winner be the one with the most positive 'can-do' outlook?

If I were a betting person, I'd give long odds in favor of the with the
positive outlook, no matter how serious or silly their programs might be.
