[Grovenet] Fw: This just about sums it up...

Ron,
Thank you!
Now I see the connection. I had read the screen and didn't notice
the spelling, because I was so conditioned to read "I Have A Dr...m"
as the l words of Dr. Martin Luther King and unconsciously corrected
the spelling.
So, I would wonder if the common thread between the picture and the
Heinlein quote is that it is tyranny to force taxpayers to pay for
public education that they don't want merely because we think it is
good to have an educated electorate?
Maybe it would be better to eliminate mandatory public funded
education. We could save the resources for those children who really
want an education. Or maybe only for those who are "deserving"
enough. We could test all children at birth and every year until
school age and only educate the top 10%. Of course the "heritage"
children would get schooling too, like Harvard allows the children of
wealthy alumni.
If the poor don't have the resources to "bootstrap" themselves, we
can afford to leave them at the bottom. If a family would rather put
their child to work rather than educate them, or needs to put them to
work to eat, that certainly isn't a problem for those of us who can
afford private education, is it?
Hmm? I don't know. Do we really need an educated population? Do we
need to have everyone vote?
Maybe it is a slow news day.
