[Grovenet] Statesmanship Rediscovered

Yes I was impressed with Senator Obama in that interview.

It was Indonesia, then his mother remarried after his father returned to
Africa.

He sounds like White House material to me as well. As he said, he didn't
agree with trying to "airbrush" all the imperfections out of a person who
was striving for public office.

That'll work as long as most voters want to elect a person to the job
instead of someone they want to believe is a "God". Unfortunately, the last
couple of elections have suggested that too many voters want the fantasy of
electing a deity who can do no wrong.

It'll be a very interesting primary process coming our way.

Yes. Amazing the changes when we cease to have a one party system.

Did you happen to see the interview with Obama on "60 Minutes"
tonight? I didn't know that he was an African-American.

Really. I had thought that both of his parents were American
citizens. Instead one parent was a foreign national from the
continent of Africa. And he lived for a time in Asia, I think they
said Indonesia. He must have had an interesting childhood.

The interview said that Obama was one of the few to vote against the
resolution authorizing the invasion of Iraq.

There is hope that the electoral process can still attract
legislators rather than mere politicians.
