Isn't "pleaded" (or "pled") the past tense of "to plead"?
Example: "I pleaded ignorance yesterday and I plead ignorance today!" or "I
pled ignorance yesterday and I plead ignorance today!"

We talked about word usage briefly a while ago.
Here's one I would like clarified!
Plead vs. Pleaded, frequently seen in the
newspapers. Pleaded seems to be much more common.
Which is correct and under what circumstances?
