[Grovenet] Don't Know the Time of Day?

I managed to make it work by truncating the URL
and getting into the page that way.

Among other things, I do some web site
maintenance for Intel. It's a huge
trade-off between going for the "fun and games"
such as Macromedia Flash
provides and trying to deal with pages that
don't display for some viewers.

Since I am primarly a content person (editor and
writer, not "web
developer") I like to stick with basic HTML and
let the content produce the
interest. But, as time goes on, new technology
becomes so common that one
can safely assume it's available everywhere. I
can remember when a
photograph in a newspaper article was only
justified for a lead on the front
page. Now it's a surprise when the managing
editor doesn't use a color photo
  on the back page!

The WEB is going along the same sort of
development. There are those who
create interest (or, in ad-speak "impact")
mostly out of what I call the
"gee whiz" factor, as in "Gee Whiz! Look at
THAT!!" which works for a short
while. But the "Gee Whiz" factor of any
technique quickly wears thin with
repetition as anyone who has spent time on a
nude beach knows.

I've always gone for impact based on content and
message. (And no, I will
*not* relate that to a nude beach analogy.)

But I won't put down those "gee whiz" types:
they keep nudging the new
  techniques along.

Worked okay on a Mac running Sarfari

I wonder if it would be easier for a child to
visualize the flow of
  time?
