No apologies  needed.

The issue of who should not vote, if that is denied any citizen for any
reason, is a very serious, complex and contentious one. 

Still, I think our founding fathers had a point when they included certain
restrictions on who could vote. So I'm inclined to remind us all that it was
*not* inherent in our country that being a citizen gave one the right to
vote, and that, personally, I'm not sure it was a good idea to remove all
the restrictions.

I stand corrected. The Goddess Insomnia paid me a visit last night, 
and I'm still a bit sleep deprived, and fuzzy in my logic. My mother, 
the retired middle school social studies teacher, would be appalled. Argh.
