[Grovenet] Peak Oil movies - past, future

Ha. Ha. There is always carpooling.....
The movie, "Crude Awakening: The Oil Crash", was very
good, rather long but got the point of peak oil
across. A better movie for the novice to this subject
is "The End of Suburbia" which one may actually rent
from Blockbuster. Both are very worth while and
informative.
The folks who presented the movie can be checked out
at their website: www.washingtoncountypeakoil.org.
They have lists of books to read, websites to visit
and other info.
They also have a list of events through September but
are doing another movie showing in August, on 8/14/07.
The movie, "The Power of Community: How Cuba
Survivied Peak Oil" shows how Cuba has managed to
survive without oil.

August's meeting is hosted by Landlinks Consulting at
the Orenco Permaculture Farm, in the Orenco
neighborhood of Hillsboro. 227th at NW Fir St.
Hillsboro, OR, 97124. The Orenco farm is walking
distance from the Orenco Max station. The public is
invited, but space is limited. There is no admission
fee, but donations are graciously accepted.
