[Grovenet] Free of ex-wife? Not so fast . . .

Is alimony punitive? Or is it supposed to be support for a person
who is without means? Or something else? I thought that the
community property has already been divided, so it shouldn't be a
return on the invested time from the marriage. I am sure that it has
be adjudicated, but I haven't looked for the citations.

Perhaps the man should request that the amount of the support be
reviewed, if that is possible, in light of his ex-wife's new
financial status.
