[Grovenet] Late news

I spent the afternoon at the Theater In The Grove watching Agatha
Christie's "Mousetrap", and it was great fun. I haven't seen it
before, so the resolution was a real surprise. The cast carried it
off quite well, I think. But then, I am partial to things in our
community.

Which brings me to the "late news". A few days back Pete Truax
announced to grovenet that Forest Grove Woman's Softball was going to
be playing in the state tournament. And we have hear nothing from
him since. Which is reasonable, because he is one of the actors in
"Mousetrap". And I suspect that he is pretty busy on the Friday,
Saturday and Sunday presentations of the play. Which may be open
next week as well. It would be worth finding out.

Any way, thanks to Pete's notification we watched the news last night
and discovered that Forest Grove won the state title in Softball! I
really expected to hear it first here on Grovenet.

It appears that a member of the District promised to try to get a
parade together to honor team. That sounds like a good idea to me.

My favorite suggestion would be to run the parade from school down to
the "First Wednesday" celebration downtown this week. We are already
scheduled to have the "Everybody's Home Town Band", The Bank's Dance
Academy, and the Forest Grove High School Jazz on Main Street, E.J.
Baerza outside "The Framer's Touch", and the Wednesday Farmer's
Market , so why not add in a parade? Let's kick off the Summer
season really big, while recognizing some high school students who
are accomplishing something through hard work and perseverance.
