If I remember correctly from doing myself a few years ago..... you need to re-register every 5 years.

Telemarketing are prohibited from cold calling phone numbers registered
with  the National Do Not Call Registry.  Starting in January, the
registry also will block automated political calls in Oregon. You can
registry your telephone number by calling 1-888-382-1222 or by logging
on to www.donotcall.gov. or www.doj.state.or.us.

an OleHoss ain't taking any chances, and called the number, and also
logged on...
I sure do hope this idea works.....
