Hmmm....How does one define "big" government? Or is the true objection to
"ANY government?" Some Americans enjoy the freedoms associated with living in
a democracy, but object to paying taxes, or having anyone tell them they
can't stockpile heavy arms, or shouldn't abuse their children, or shouldn't have
multiple spouses. Seems to me they want total personal freedom to do
whatever they like and any laws that conflict with those desires are considered
"big" government interference. I don't have list any extreme examples, for you've
seen them all in headlines. Members of ethnic cultures such as those cited
in your posting are apparently peaceful communities, not unlike our Amish, but
unfortunately, other such individuals go much farther and not only ignore
but oppose whatever government rules the land on which they reside -- sometimes
violently.
