The Monterey Bay Aquarium does good work. When I lived on the bay I
maintained a membership and really enjoyed visiting when the place was
virtually empty and spending an hour sitting alone on the little bench in
front of the huge tank with the kelp beds.

The EPA has some resources regarding human exposure to mercury:

http://www.epa.gov/mercury/exposure.htm

And the FDA has data of individual species and sources of fish:

Visit www.seafoodwatch.org and download the latest version of the Seafood
Guide. There's one for each region of the US listing best choices and fish
to
avoid.
