[Grovenet] It's only a poll, but . . .

Yes. Remember that the reason...the ONLY reason we attacked Iraq was because
Iraq had the means and intent to attack us with WMD.

The moment that threat no longer existed (assuming it ever did) we had no
cause for action at all. It was then incumbent upon us to apologize and, if
America is a civilized nation, we had a moral obligation to fix what we
broke, just as you or I would expect the police to pay for damages if they
smashed into our home and trashed everything by mistake.

I haven't seem much in the way of "civilized behavior" from us yet.

"Exporting democracy" sound to me much like Mussolini's "exporting fascism"
in the 1930's. These days I think of that arrogant S.O.B. as he postured
in front of the crowds and I see my country reflected in the image.

A good friend of mine sent the following summation and associated poll
results:

62% of Iraqis think that things are about the same or worse than before the
war. 74% don?t feel safe in their own neighborhood. 78% don?t support the
coalition (read American) forces in Iraq . And 51% think it is okay to
attack our troops. Finally, what do we get for all our bloodshed and money?
56% want either someone who rules for life or a theocracy.
