And what is a person to do who voted the other way and was in the minority
after the votes were counted?
I was careful who I voted for but still feel shafted at the national level.
So, I am much more active in trying to change the things that I don't like.
And I hope that people who don't like the way things turn out locally will
also become more active in getting things turned around more to their
liking. If you are unhappy with the city budget, there are lots of ways to
try to get it changed. Go to the budget meetings or get on the budget
committee. Campaign for or against measures. And even voting - that is
simple enough to do but many people don't even bother with stuff like
voting. (Though I think voting is actually a big thing - even though it
doesn't take much time. Simple does not equal unimportant, and it really
says a lot about your character if you don't bother to vote but you complain
about things anyway.)
