[Grovenet] was: fire funding-now city funding

Luckily, the fire service is not quite that territorial, and while you don't pay city taxes you are in the Forest Grove Rural Fire Protection District and pay taxes to that entity. FGRFPD owns a 50% interest in all capital assets of the joint fire dept and pays for day to day operations based on a rolling 5 yr average of call volume. So you get good service from a department that you pay for through property taxes.

I can speak from personal experience, although it was 14 years ago, that the FGPD does NOT come out to the unincorporated area, at least not Dilley.
And they told me over the phone that it was because we do not pay city taxes.

  (snip)
They confirmed it. I even gave them the example of my family being attacked by a madman and they still told me that they would not come because I do not pay city taxes.
But I do also happen to know that the fire department will come out here.
