[Grovenet] A worthy Republican Candidate ? ? ? ? ?

I see it a lot among sports fans. Instead of supporting their team
regardless, perhaps providing extra encouragement and support when they
don't win, some fans get angry and despondent.
It all comes down to allowing something over which they have absolutely no
control - the outcome of an election or a team winning a game - determine
how they will feel about themselves as individuals.
At best it's childish immaturity. At worst it's insanity.

P.S. I noticed yesterday that I posted a message at 2:19 PM and it showed up
on the reflector at 7:29 PM. What happened, someone tie the internet cable
to the Grovenet server in a knot so the electrons couldn't get through?

Much to my dismay, I have a very dear relative who is exactly like that. He
wants so desperately to be allied to the 'winner' and to be on the
'winning' team. I've tried to figure out why he is that way and to reassure
him that he still needs to vote for the one that he wants to win, not the
one who looks like they are going to win.
Its very difficult to get across the idea that you can be in the minority
and still be right in the long run or the short term for that matter.
