So, after all the haggling and hollering, the President signed the new war
appropriations bill last Friday: $100 Billion.

$100 Billion will continue our efforts in Iraq for a few more months. That
same amount of money would pay for:

Building two hundred fully-equipped hospitals at 500 million each, or

Graduating two hundred thousand medical doctors, at half a million each, or

Building four hundred thousand new single-family homes at $250,000 each
(many times that number if built by Habitat for Humanity)

Those are just a few ideas. I'm sure most people have a list of their own.
