I rather enjoyed Gary Trudeau's observation recently in "Doonsbury": If
Hillary wins the Presidency, our country will have been "led" from the Oval
office for over two consecutive decades by members of only two families,
Bush and Clinton.

Whoodathunk in 1979?

Polls consistently report that the voting public is not just tired of the
rampant Republicans. They are equally fed up with the doddering Democrats
who have decided not to impeach or condemn President Bush's actions and who
have failed to do anything substantive since winning control of congress.

2008 could be the year a modern "Bull Moose" party finally makes the big
leagues, or it could be when the Dems continue to fumble so badly they hand
the White House to a Republican who makes President Bush look like a genius
by comparison, or they could put their own brand on nouveau insanity into
the Oval Office. With 1/3 of the voters angry with the incompetence of the
Republican White House, 1/3 of the voters angry with the incompetence of the
Democratic Congress, and 1/3 of the voters convinced we're headed for a huge
economic crash in the near future, anything's possible.

The one thing angry, frustrated, worried voters are not likely to do is make
any sort of rational choice based on facts.

It's an interesting year coming up.

Let the good times roll...for someone, somewhere.
