[Grovenet] And so it continues, at least until 01-20-2008 ! ! ! ! !

Isn't it amazing how adept we are at dancing around the issue? This nation
has embraced the administration, evil or not. Even the administration's
opponents in Washington have refused to condemn it or to suggest that any
criminal, much less evil, wrongdoing has occurred. That signals what we are
willing to do as a nation when we feel threatened. I am disappointed but not
surprised.
In the greater scheme of things, 9/11 and the Iraqi disaster are almost
meaningless.
We Americans must buy virtually everything we need from other nations
because we no longer have the capacity to provide for ourselves, yet our
money is increasingly worthless elsewhere. The day is coming when we no
longer have the oil or other energy resources we need to keep our TV's
alight, our pantries full of food, our homes warm or our cars filled with
gasoline.
We Americans will not stand for that. It's not about convenience. It's about
survival. Without those resources our businesses and paychecks stop and our
military grinds to a halt. America would stand open to anyone who wants to
come and take what little we still have. And we would be starving as we wait
for them to arrive.
I have no doubt that America will use every resource in our power to prevent
that, even if it means laying waste much of the planet Earth under nuclear
bombs to take what we need, even if it's just to help us survive another
decade, another year, another week.
And we know other nations will do the same. That's why we fear other
nations, especially those with nuclear bombs. Already we see an endless
supply of people willing, even eager to blow themselves up to kill those who
they fear or hate. That is the mentality that makes nuclear war not just
possible but inevitable.
Today we stand on the precipice of the Third World War.
If we are to survive, we Americans must stop worrying about looking good to
others and start worrying about the health of the global civilization of
which America is but one part.
Osama Bin Ladin is one of us, just as we Americans are part of the nuclear
development projects in Iran and North Korea. The raging Ayatollahs in the
far east are as much a part of our daily lives as the church services many
attend on the Sabbath in American towns and neighborhoods.
There is no longer a "them" over there and "us" here. They are here and we
are there. We all interact daily. We all affect each other daily. We are all
one civilization.
We must understand that and act accordingly if we wish to survive, if we
don't want that "freedom tower" rising in New York city to become a
half-finished derelict symbol of failure. American failure. Global failure.

Sorry, except for Dick Cheney, I don't buy the evil theory. After all, think
how much worse it would be if they "were" acting intentionally, rather than
incompetently!! Unfortunately, the allusion does not stop at the federal
level!!

There is nothing Keystone Cops about this administration. They are
not dumb, bumbling fools. They are intentional actors with a well
written script. When we underestimate their capacity for wreaking
havoc or misjudge their motivations, then we will give them the
latitude to continue in their chosen direction. It is amazing to me
that a whole segment of the nation is quite willing to believe in a
literal devil, but totally unwilling to recognize evil in their leaders.

You are wondering when this kink of Keystone Cops fumbling and

at all the candidates, from the Rs to the Ds, likely the only
people who would care about doing something suffer from "Jimmy
Carteritis" and are unlikely to be able to do anything.
So, Ron and Steven and Mike and all the rest, who you gonna support!!
I am now convinced that we are in for a long run, with Mike
Huckabee the eventual winner!! Remember, you heard it here first!!
