[Grovenet] Finally, it's about time - only about a trillion dollars too late . . . .

Yep. But you won't hear anything other than 'we're winning' from the
Bushies.
'We are winning in Iraq!' will be the headlines for at least a year.
Can we come home then? Of course not. We will have 130K troops there
(and at least that many contractors) until he is out of office for sure.
The trumpets will blare every time 5000 troops are rotated, whether
they are replaced or not. And since we have been 'winning' ever since
our mission was accomplished and we subsequently poured more and more
troops into the region, we will be 'winning' for a long time to come.
And if a new president makes it into the White House with the
intention of bringing our troops home the 'news' will shift and all
the war profiteers will send a loud and clear message that we can't
'lose' this war.
Winning will be defined by the same twisted language as torture. We
are winning as long as there are billions to be made in contracts,
paid for by US taxpayers. As soon as we have no need to give big
contracts, then we will be losing the war or starting a new one to
'win'.
Katie
Who wants to define 'winning' in the region where the Allied Turks
and the Iraqi Kurds seem hell bent on killing each other too. Maybe
if we just sell arms to both sides the real winners will be the arms
merchants. Doesn't that just scream out the question WWJBAF? (Who
would Jesus buy arms from?)
