Bob,

The closing scene describes how the audience is willing to bet on the  
con, even after it has been explained that it IS a con and that they  
cannot win.

This goes along with the discussion about how a Democratic system  
like the US could allow President Bush to go as far as he did in Iraq.

Of course having "shills" in the news media working to perpetuate the  
Con certainly helped.
