Needs plenty of open sunlight. Unless you use fertilizer, needs 
alternation every other year with a nitrogen-fixing crop like peas or 
clover, which should be plowed under in the fall. Planting times vary 
according to the variety of seed and when you wish to harvest. Sum 
total of my knowledge.
