I think many extreme liberals have -outgrown, transcended, faced reality, 
been co-opted, etc. you choose the appropriate term-their idealism.

My comment was aimed at a Berkeley Liberal on our forum that has not 
outgrown, transcended, faced reality, been co-opted etc.(you choose the 
appropriate term.)
