Thanks Chris, for forwarding this on.  I suppose the Wikipedia link is why
it didn't get posted the first time.  Here is the content of the original
message:

This time Rocky, our 12 year old Schipperke disappeared (Friday, 3/14/08).
The last time it was Shadow (14 years old).  If you see him, please call and
let us know.  

He is 12 years old, black with no markings, tail-less and weighs about 18
pounds (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schipperke).  He is deaf and has
cancerous lumps under his right jaw.  He is generally amiable, but may be in
pain due to his condition.

Unfortunately he got mixed up with a skunk last week and I took his collar
off to neutralize it and it didn't get put back on.  So, he doesn't have a
collar or tags on - but is micro-chipped.

Both of our dogs were always very good - but in the past two years, both of
them wandered off.  Rocky disappeared a year ago when it seems he might have
had a stroke.   The Vet from the Companion Vet clinic found him on Gales
Creek Hwy (we live on Thatcher Road).  It was about a couple weeks before he
recognized us again.  

Then just two months ago, Shadow disappeared, but someone near Tom McCall
took her in and called the Animal Shelter, where we picked her up.  I can
only hope we'll be as lucky again.
 

Please call if you see our Rocky-boy!  We really want to care for him now -
which is most likely the end of his life.
