(about 7 a.m.) ...

I know people who have many of the same
questions you are having, and although we do
have cable here at our house, I don't like the
idea that someone would have to subscribe just
to make next year's digital useful to them!  We
have cable at our house because when we first
moved here a long time ago, no TV antennae
were allowed and without cable you couldn't
receive but a couple of channels (the way our
house is situated, etc.) --

There seems not to be enough clear info
out there yet for converting without a cable
subscription, which seems frustrating ...
